Race Davies

Race Davies (born 10 August 1962 in Moglabazar, Sylhet, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), birth name Rosie Best) is a British actress. She is probably most famous for playing Jackie Owen in EastEnders from 1999 to 2000.

Her first television appearance was in The Bill in 1988. Since then she has appeared in Men Behaving Badly, Holby City and Kavanagh QC. channel 4 Hollyoaks

More recently, she worked on the PlayStation 3 game Heavenly Sword, providing motion capture for and voicing the character Whiptail.

She had recently appeared in Hollyoaks in late June 2009 as Christine Carpenter, mother of already established characters Zoe and Archie Carpenter.

Family

Race Davies has two older brothers, Edward and Simon. Edward is a senior lecturer at the European Institute of Public Administration in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Simon's early career was in the music business, first at seminal Scottish new wave record label Fast Product and as drummer in 1970s Edinburgh punk band The Flowers (Scottish band). He later switched his career to bio-tech, and is founder of Roslin BioMed, the company that created Dolly the Sheep, and Ardana.
